Javi Vazquez is a veteran 155lb fighter in mixed martial arts. A southpaw based out of southern California, Vazquez is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and began fighting professionally in 1998, though he took some time off after knee injuries in 2003. Many of his fights have taken place in King of the Cage.
Javi Vazquez is married to the daughter of Rorion Gracie, the founder of the UFC, and is known for wearing bright pink shorts in competition. After his October 2007 fight against JC Pennington, Javi "Showtime" Vazquez retired from MMA and announced that he would be focusing on coaching and training others.
