Dustin Hazelett is a mixed martial arts fighter from the Appalachian region of the United States, where he grew up in a small coal mining town in Kentucky. He is a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Jorge Gurgel.
Hazelett made his first large scale appearance in his fight against Rhalan Gracie in March 2006 at the Gracie Fighting Championships. Hazelett beat Gracie by split decision in that fight. Since then he's continued to do well, beating the Brazilian Diego Saraiva over whom he enjoyed a significant size advantage after cutting a lot of weight.
Dustin Hazelett has also served as a referee in amateur MMA events in Ohio.
