Cole Escovedo is a mixed martial artist from Fresno, California who found success in the WEC and has beaten such fighters as Bart Palaszewski. He has also faced Urijah Faber and Jens Pulver, but came up short.
In December 2006 Escovedo contracted a staph infection that was not treated early on and worked its way into his spine. Surgery and treatment eradicated the infection but his status as a fighter is unknown.
